I'm betting the axle was attached to the frame (like a cement mixer truck) and the rubber on the tires was solid (like an industrial fork
lift)!

There's a pretty good gap between the axle and frame, plus the front has decent leaf springs so I'm inclined to think it has a good suspension system..

There's some find of trailing arm setup on the rear axle, so I think it has springs on the rear axle.

That truck will probably do 15 mph that tractor will probably do 3 or 4 if that

Great picture of then modern day equipment. Looks like the lower part of the windshield raises for fresh air, didn't go fast enough to worry about things
hitting the driver.

Yep.
Might have traverse mounted leaf spring pack or two.
