Very satisfied are complete turn of of 1949 8N. Replaced coil, points, cap, wire and entire engine wire harness as old one was nothing but
bare wires insulation gone. Tried firing tractor first time yesterday an it stumbled and back fired and would not take full throttle. It
backfired one big time and died. Let it set until today after work. Long story short I determined no fire to plugs. Popped off distributor
cap and found tip (Spring loaded side) broken and laying in cap. I replaced old rotor button and it's purring like a kitten. First ever
tune up on an 8N especially front mounted distributor shaft. If I were to post pictures of old wire harness you'd be shocked it was
running(other than burned up points) at all. Good learning for me and enjoyed helping my uncle out in the process.....Rw3al3

You are the latest victim of poor offshore quality. I went through exactly this scenario with my Jubilee a few years ago. Off spec parts, plain and simple

There is a big difference between running and running well. Running is easy running well takes some work. These bears will "run" with a lot of issues. After good tune up you would notice difference if you ask it to do some work.

Enjoy!
