TV channel changes OT

[kswillie]

How can this happen? 7:00 this am I shut the TV off on ch 193 sci. This evening turned the TV back on and it was on ch 6002 sxm02 Sirius xm hits-1 a music ch. I have never listened to. We have dish net. The TV also has a wii and a dvd hooked to it. When I pressed ch last viewed it went to ch 193. We were gone all day. Only the wife and I. The house was locked. No sign of anyone being in the house. We do have an outside garage door opener pad. Wife thinks it’s a TV glitch. I’m thinking some dirt bag was in my house. Is there any way that the TV could change its channel? Or does Mom’s ghost like Sirius radio?

having dish myself, they seem to change the channel themself at the office [reps], i can turn on my t-v that also was set at a channel, bam, i get that stupid channel 101, telling me how to use remote, or telling about channels that i don't subcribe to...

I dunno,we have had a lot of unexplainable things happen in our 106 year old farmhouse.

I have dish net, and have had funny things happen. Just today, there was a program scheduled to record that my wife and I did not set!!
It was set to record ALL episodes and I simply deleted all of them.
I have voiced a complaint with dish net and stated if unexplained things continue and they can't stop it---- I will stop it myself.

Power failure? Or they might have downloaded a new software update and done a restart.

I don"t know about Dish but DirecTv can add and remove channels and even reboot your receiver remotely.

Here it is the dog walking/sleeping on the remote.

Check all the batteries in any remotes you may have that can access the TV and other devices. Low batteries can "call for help" and do strange things.

We had a TV that would come on and change channels on its own and it was the 9 year old battery in the remote that was causing it. Drove us nuts for about a month.

I had a similar thing happen last night on antenna TV. It was pixilating and the screen kept going blue on channel 9-2 when I was trying to watch the news. You can only go to a channel that ends with -1 when you change channels using the numbers on the remote, then you use the other button to go up to the -2 or whatever. So I went to channel 47-1 and up to 47-2. I watched that for a minute, then wanted to try 9-2 again. I went to 9-1,up to 9-2 and it was pixilating the show I'd been watching on 47-2.

Police have been warning of this type of break in where the criminals change your channel. Some even have the nerve to watch your tv for a few minutes before taking flight. In several cases they accidentally let the cat out so now a manhunt is on .
