Tw-5 position control linkage

Hello all. I have a problem that at this point is an annoyance but concerned it may turn into a problem. TW-5 series 2. After tractor sets for a few days and I go to move the position control lever I have to give it’s stuck and I have to give it a little tug to get it moving, then it fine till it’s parked again. I have disconnected the linkage from the shaft that enters the top cover and the problem is not in the linkage. Looking at the diagram (see circled piece) it looks like a friction disc that is loaded with a spring where the shaft goes through the top cover, I’m wondering if that’s where it’s grabbing. Can the tension be adjusted by the nut on the outside? The factory shop manual doesn’t address it. Thanks

Yes, you should be able to loosen that nut and the tension should back off. That's a rare problem to see though, usually the problem is backwards of that.

Thank you Sir, you are a wealth of knowledge and much appreciated. Removed the two bolts from the yoke and sled it back so I could get a wrench in there, that bolt was tight!!! The parts list calls for a lock nut but after it broke loose it turn with little resistance, seems to be the factory nut. The only resistance to keep the nut from turning is the spring pressure from behind. Anyway, I backed it off 1/2 turn and put a witness mark on it to make sure it says and see how it goes.
