Twisted Clevis for Pulling with 3" Inside Diameter

Looking for a twisted clevis with a 3" inner diameter. Can anyone post a part number because every one I see on eBay mentions length but not the inside diameter. 3/4" pin would be nice but not vital. Thanks again and if you know of a USA made one please let me know!

I have yet to buy one on line, but any place that sella tractors or parts or equipment would have them. Made in USA would be extremely difficult. You are correct in looking for a twisted clevis, it is very important.

A D-ring would be better, if can use it.
Or have a twisted clevis made, so the ring
is level. Then can make pin fit drawbar
and clevis tight.

(quoted from post at 08:21:37 07/28/19) I am interested in the reasoning behind this.

Rustred, just draw a diagram side view, of a chain hooked onto a straight clevis on a drawbar, and running down to a point on the ground, and then same chain, same point on the ground, hooked onto a twisted clevis. You should be able to see the difference in hitch height.

its just that that you loose height with a clevis and want them to put the hook over the drawbar inbetween the hammer strap with a pin. they use their own clevis instead then hook the hook into the clevis.

At every pull that I have ever been to in twenty years in four states you have to supply your own clevis.

This is my pulling drawbar on my 101 Massey thats won quite a few pulls.......The clevis has a
2.5" by 3.5" hole and is set at the 18 inch height limit (center of clevis) for the 3 MPH class...
The sled hook drops right in it......I have an even bigger twisted clevis thats on my 1456 IH that
I pull some at 13,200.....The local farm supply store has lots of different size
clevis's in stock..

I want to hook as high as legal, say 18". Don't want my hook point (clevis) to be less than that. The difference all this makes no fluid etc. Is night before last I pulled my top cut tires pulling hitch 18" etc. 435 JD. 4500 lb. Out of field class. 3 mph. All those tractors had no front weight. Went 200 ft or so. I had a little over 300 lb. On the front. Probably 1500 more weight most behind axle but 250 of that under the middle. Went 300 plus. And idled back when flagman stopped me. No I didn't take their money. Just saying a tractor setup for pulling, the little things add up.

We broke pretty much everyone of using clevis s years ago, they are too small for the big sled s hook, really need a 3" x 3.75" oval hole for the big hook. I ve sent people away because of it.

Ran 162 hooks yesterday at our fair s antique pull and I didn t see one clevis. All plate style hitches with at least a 3" hole.

MikeJM congratulations on breaking everybody! I have been pulling with a clevis on my 4000 lb tractor many hooks /year for 20 years, and with a D-ring on my 11,500 puller for about 14 years. There is very rarely an issue with what anybody has. Pretty much the only problem is maybe once every 800 hooks somebody backs up to the sled with no clevis. There are various things that guys get worked up about but clevis vs. plate appears to be pretty low on the list.

Wow breaking a clevis is not something I would think my Massey 35 could do but I guess anything is possible. I guess I could have a plate cut out with a 3" hole. Do you guys use 3/4" plate? 1"?
