Two bottom number 10 plow?

Purchased this plow last week. I think that it is a model 10 based upon it having two leveling cranks vs levers. I have a five bottom, 4 bottom and a 4 bottom reduced to three but have never came across any smaller. The little genius number 8 plows are the more common 2-3 bottom plows. Plow looks really complete with coulters that have a jointer-scraper good bottoms and traction nubs on the land wheel, only thing I did not see was the Clovis ring. Interested if anyone can confirm or deny model. Thanks, Mike

All the P @ O plow's i have seen, usually got that stamped into the standards, Bring a steel brush next time u look It sure look like the P @ O for the tail wheel adjustment.

Yes I forgot to add that, definitely has P &O numbers on all parts. Should also add that it has 16 inch bottoms. Thanks, Mike.

It looks like a #10 -- crank control, axles over the frame. The rest should look like a #8 but built heavier. At first, I questioned the 2-bottom configuration, couldn't find it in sales information. But I found confirmation they existed (parts catalog).

for us that may not know, why were TRACTION NUBS necessary on this plow? My dad used to pull IH drag plows for several years and I don't remember any nubs being on his plows. thanks for info. Pembroke

Found this plow in western Washington puget sound area. My thoughts were that the bottoms or sloughs must have been very wet and sticky.
I think that the nubs were to ensure that the land wheel would not slip to work the trip, only plow I have that has the scrapers on the coulters
also. Here on the dry side of the state you very rarely see nubs on land wheels except on very old light plows. Maybe they are all worn off in
the last 80-90 years?

Sorry did not get part numbers off of the bottoms, dug down thru the fir needles and moss to make sure it was not completely worn out but that was as close as I looked, they were deep suck blacksmith shares. Plow is not home yet as it is way too big to fit in back of pickup, will have too make another trip when the weather gets better. I will get better pics at that time.

IS THE PART # FOR THE BOTTOMS LEGIBLE.
I'M CURIOUS IF IT HAS DEEP TILLAGE BOTTOMS.

ROB

They don't look like deep tillage bottoms to me. They look like KA general purpose bottoms. They would be stamped with O3048.

That is a neat plow! The KA bottoms, coulter jointers, and traction lugs all "make sense" for heavy ground.
