I'm having a difficult time finding part numbers for the 2 tie link boots on each side of a 1950 Ford 8N. Also what is the best way to remove a stubborn steering wheel on the same tractor? I've tried heat and a big ball pin hammer. Thanks in advance for your help!

I would try a gear puller. Ron MN

What he is showing you is number 34 in the parts diagram I am linking. CNH Ford 8N steering parts That link will give you access to the manufacturers online parts catalog for your 8N. To view different diagrams you have to select other Functional Groups and Diagrams. On a PC it is pretty self explanatory on a phone clicking Table of Contents take you to the main indexes. Also if you didn’t know this if you click the little rectangle with the triangle cut out of the bottom to the left of the reply number that book marks that reply internally in YT. Whenever you want to get back to my link for 8N parts you just open your YT profile and click “book marks” and it will show up. When you set the book mark you can give it a name as well.

Steering wheels are tough. If the old one is trash cut a slot almost to the shaft and drive a chisel in the cut. Are you keeping the old one?

I have purchased a new one.

4 inch grinder and a cut off wheel will make short work of the old one. Cut where the key way is and you don't even have to be careful.

Avoid banging on the steering shaft with a hammer unless the gears are already toast, or you want to toast them. I use a gear puller.
