UB transmission

stupid question maybe, but I'm new to molines. Where do I add oil to the transmission on a UB? I assume you fill till it runs out the plug on the side.
Thanks

There should be a triangular cover on the transmission cover, aft of the shiftier lever. Add oil through that opening.

Some may not have a separate fill port for the transmission. My Owner/Operator manual says to remove the gear shift lever housing (4 bolts) on top of transmission and pour it in there. My UB is this way

If you have patience you could pour it in the check hole if needing just a small amount

I have taken a couple pieces of 1" pipe and an elbow (making an "L" shaped connection) and screwed it into the check hole on the side of the transmission pointing up. Then I adapted it to some 3" PVC pipe to make a big funnel. Pour oil into the funnel and let it run down into the transmission - keep filling until the oil starts to back up in the 1" pipe - at that time you are full enough - actually too full. Remove the PVC pipe and turn the "L" to point down and drain back into the oil jug that you took the oil from. When the oil stops flowing, it is at the bottom of the fill hole which is where you wanted it to be. Save the PVC and the "L" for the next time you are faced with a similar dilemma.

Correction to my previous post - the pipe used to connect to the side of the transmission is 3/4" - not 1" - sorry for the misinformation.

Don’t think I have ever seen on without the fill port. I’d put in neutral and pull the shifter if I needed to
add a significant amount.
