Ultimate tractor scrap yard?

On c-list, a guy in Mayetta, KS is claiming in his scrap yard he is parting out approx. 1600 tractors from 1930 thru the 1970s . His phone is 785-966-2739.

Anyone else know of a bigger one? I may have to take the wife up to Kansas for her anniversary.

Dennis,

There is a place in Pavo, GA that has three or four lots (of 20 to 40 acres each) chock full of tractors of every shape and size. They also have a building with restored tractors in it. Around here this one is the largest collection of parts tractors I have ever seen!

LOL you take the wife for yer anniversary to Ks you may wind up in divorce court! Even Dorthy really didn't want to go back to Ks....it was just in the script!

Uh huh.

Just like the time I took my wife to Chicago....to see the U-Boat in the Science & Technology Museum.

What surprised me is that she fell for the same line regarding a visit to Charleston SC. 30 minutes driving through the historic area & 6 hours touring the ships at Patriots Point.

I don't think I'll be able to pull that off again.

yep.. it's hard to pull those. like offering to take your wife to a restaurant she loves to eat at that is about a 3.5 hour drive away.. and then she notices that on the trip up or back that there is a tractor show or something that you just 'have to' stop at.. :)

I am a very lucky man, after 40 years she still believes the guns and tractors are "investments". I wonder if the scrap yard have a tourist trap shop where I can buy her some 8N earrings.

That would be Stauffer Salvage. They tend to lean to IHC, but have many others. Here is the link to their business. They do sell over the internet and are very fair with their pricing.
