unidentified part

I am disassembling my 41 9N front mount distributor getting it ready for pait. This lever/bar is attached to the 3 point. What is it for and how do i remove it? I have tried PB Blaster and a BFH. BFH and a wedge and visegrips. Any help would be appreciated.

I have absolutely no idea what that is, but you are going to have to use some heat on that pin to help break the rust. Heat plus PB Blaster. Don't over do it with hammer. You don't want to break the lift arm!

Confirming what Cooke said you will need heat and lots of it on that cross swivel as the pin is a neat fit.
I have taken the lift arm of the tractor and done it on the bench as you get a better go with the 32 oz persuader and can support the yoke of the lift arm over a hole etc.
Also clean up the piece of the pin that is sticking out or any burrs etc will foul in the cross piece bore.
I find WD-40 etc of little use until you have movement between the frozen pieces.
Is it some part of a height lock, somebody out there knows.

Just a SWAG here, I most likely am way off. Has been over 50 years since i have dealt with one, & from what I have read on this board, it probably is part of the lift system for a sickle bar mower. IIRC, there is a cable that attaches here. Lifting the 3 point part way lifts the whole mower & the bar remains level. Lift it all the way & the bar angles up, maybe around 45°.
Someone will surely jump in here in a few minutes with the correct explaination.

My poor & tired 'grey cells' think you may be on the right track. I have parts of a Dearborn(sp)sickle mower (mostly the attach to tractor bits) and I think (a scarry proposition) that that 'arm' may be one of them. P.S. if anyone wants this stuff, I can take a picture and all you have to do is pay shipping. Mind you each part would just about limit the Postal service regs, and I'm not sure what trucking would cost - welcome to have free to anyone.

Bob Harvey, Could you please post a picture of the parts that you have. I may be interested. Thanks

The part in the picture is it. I do not have any other parts that attach to it. I was just courious what it may have been. If anyone wants it. Let me know.
