I have a unique older modification to a 1948 ford f6 truck which used to be a firetruck back in the day. I need to rebuild/replace a ram on the backhoe but im unsure of its origin. I can't seem to find any identification markings or labels/stickers on it. It was handed down to my by my father in law who has passed and the book of all information has been lost so I dont have much to go by. It's a slight restoration project that will be used for its intended purpose. Thank you all in advance I appreciate any and all information

For identity, try cleaning off the id tag in the picture. To repair or replace, remove it and take it to a hydraulic shop, if you can't id it.

It was his father that built it. It's a heck of a machine and still fully functional but the ram that controls in and out movement no longer has much "nnalert" behind it anymore
Ahh
Pretty neat its staying in the family
Like the others said any decent hydraulic shop can repair it or get you the parts if you're going to tear it apart
Usually not much lead time if you show up with the parts you need in hand

If you show up with the cylinder or complete machine it can take a few weeks depending how busy they are

Thank you all for replying. I will take it apart at some point soon and see if they are able to set me up. There's a couple hydraulic shops in my area so hope one of them can set me up.

JD backhoe likely off of a small jd crawler tractor late 60 or early 70s if it is off of a crawler it will be open center hyd if off of a tractor closed center hyds
