Universal fit parts

I've come to believe anything labeled as universal is code for it probably works on everything but doesn't work right on anything. I bought a top link for my Farmall M for the alternator and was labeled as universal. I had to do some grinding and bending to get it to even come close to working. Just my thoughts for today.

I have the same opinion. Years ago when we were selling motorcycle parts nothing fit till we made it fit.

That is why if its something I can make I just make it, or I take my draWING to my neighbor that has a CNC machine shop and have him make it!

Years ago, we used "Midwest" aftermarket parts, for HD motorcycles. Couldn't afford OEM. Made in the land of "almost right." Common laugh, was "Cut, Beat, or Grind."
