A lockable box that could hold a control, meter, or gauge. Possibly from a warning system since it has the small holes in it that could have had a horn or buzzer behind them.

Reminds me of a box that would've held an older tachograph so big brother could review after the driver returned.

U could hide ur beer in that when out in the field , and it even has a little red blinky light so u can find it when it gets dark !

Does the window and hinge appear to be factory, or farmerized?

Where do those red wires go?

Maybe a lockable battery box?

Reminds me of the camera box for a school bus I believe is what that is. Two way mirror you can see through it in the one picture. Complete with microphone hole. The driver hits the switch and the red light turns on to record the delinquents. I think nowadays they are smaller and not quite as visible
