Unstyled A cast centers

Hate to ask because usually I dont agree with most values listed here but found these centers recently and know they are very rare and have too many projects and thought maybe sell these to fix other projects.Notice somebody chipped away at valve stem.Best guess at value?Thanks

They are indeed extremely rare. You probably know what makes them rare is that they don't have the six raised segments around the perimeter of the rim, and were only available as factory installed on 36-37 ten spline A's. From all that I have ever read, very few A's ever left the factory with them. Secondly, many have since gone to the scrap yards because they are heavy. I have a set just like them.
Unfortunately I don't think they are worth much simply because they are not in demand. The only way you will likely get the money for them that they are truly worth, is to run across someone whos' tractor has been researched and was shipped from the factory with them, and they want their tractor to be factory correct. E-bay might be your best bet and make sure to detail how rare they are. I don't think I have ever seen a set of them for sale.
I would sell mine if I could get a decent price for them.

I agree they are rare,as GURU said not much demand i would try Green mag or Two cyl mag, ebay seems to not bring good money for cast wheels because of weight.

Not sure on the B's. Is the one for the B a different casting number, or just the same disk with a different bushing for the B axle. Didn't think they made that split taper type bushing for the B axle, but once again not sure.

It is true that a big drawback to selling them is the weight/shipping cost. However that problem exists no matter where you advertise them. I don't have any allegiance to e-bay in the least, but their audience is worldwide. Green Mag and T-C audience is minimal. Almost any internet based advertising would have a bigger crowd, maybe right on here. List them with a fairly high minimum and drop it if there is no interest. You could probably get the highest dollar at a T-C Expo swap meet or similar event, where some high rollers stroll, but who all can do that!

The correct rim for these would be a 36" split rim? Right?

From any info I have seen, that is correct. One of the problems with this disk is that the wheel can't be removed if the disk is on the tractor with the split bushing facing out. Thus the split rim aids in tire changing, although most tire work is just done with the rim on anyway. Any I have ever seen just had a regular rim on them, but I believe the split ring type wheel is correct. A period correct parts book would be the most revealing source on this. Like one from 38 or 39 maybe.

My b has the same casting numbers as the updated cast wheel.One must have broke because it has one of each.

I've got a operators manual/parts book for a 1939 "B" somewhere, I will try to find it and see what the options were then. I removed the staples for it to have it copied some time ago and shelved it as I do with a lot of projects around my home.

I dug around (I have that same, shelved project problem) and found a copy of Repair Catalog 57-R, parts book, for A's except ANH, AWH, from July 15th 1943. It shows AA945R and AA1002R as "rim, demountable, with side ring" for 9 X 36 and 10 X 36 respectively, for A1282R cast wheel.
They also show an A2366R (PN AA2228R) that has the same continuous lip for A's 1940 and up, but it has the built in cone type lock that takes a lock collar. Don't know that I have ever seen a set of these.

I have parts catalog 676 but it does not show the smooth lip wheel.I suppose since both casting are B695R they just show the updated one.

GURU....the wheel/tire CAN be removed with the split out ..thats what the notch the other poster referred to as the valve stem notch in the rim is for...take all lugs off & turn the wheel 45 degrees & let it fall in this notch [turned to the top] then the wheel/tire will slide past on the bottom ...have done it more than once on my 37 "A"...take care...Kent

Huh.......I have a couple of wheels that absolutely won't go over the lip. I never paid much attention to it at the time, but I suppose the wheels are aftermarket (Firestone or something) and the drop center is not configured such that it will work. I just assumed from that experience that it would not work, but I don't have a great deal of varied experience with such things.
Maybe JD went to the segmented lip so that a wider variety of wheels could be used. I don't know. Probably is a bulletin on the subject. Wish I had a copy of every bulletin relating to tractors through the entire two cylinder era.

we had 16 "A's" and 12 "M" Farmals when I was in HS..the rims will interchange but the M rims will not slip in the notch on the US cast wheel....Firestone & Goodyear made all the rims for Deere & Farmal & like you say some are shaped different in the drop center part ...I had to go through several US "A's" to get the correct ones...I have quite a few Deeres that I rob for parts for my running ones....the 37 I have belonged to my DAD & came with solid wheels but I have a set of spokes I would love to put on it....take care ...Kent
