unstyled a pulling parts

Would you be interested in a complete tractor? Exactly as you are looking for. Very sharp looking tractor-called "Big Jugs". E-mail's open.

Jugs, you've still got that tractor? I can't believe someone hasn't snatched it up by now. Sharp looking machine and priced very fair.

I have to agree with Bigjugs , buy one allready done , it will be a lot cheaper than doing it to yours. A tractor with 10,000.00 into mods will only sell for $6,000.00. You would be crazy to go that route plus you can start competing the day you bring it home. If you are younger than 40 , I doubt you will do it this way. Us old guys have different priorities. We don't have time left to just throw away our labor hours and lose 40% on our investment.

Ray, everyone says the same thing. Had lots of interest, but nobody has any money right now...economy yet. Lots of offers to take something in trade, but I don't need anything right now. Someday it will sell, and kick some butt some place else. lol.

JUST LOOKING FOR PARTS AT THIS TIME HAVE A SOME TRACTORS ALREADY. 10,000.00 IN MODS ? CANT A GUY GET A BLOCK SLEEVED BY JACKS FOR 1,400 PISTONS FROM MURPHYS FOR 600 RODS ALSO FROM MURPHYS FOR 400 CRANK DONE AT BAXTER ENGINE FOR 700 CAM REDONE BY BERRY FOR 100 THAT IS ONLY 3,200 A LOT LEFT OVER FOR CARB MAG AND OTHER TRICK STUFF TO GET UP TO 10,000 ISINT IT? I COULD BE WRONG I HAVE NOT BUILT ONE LIKE THIS SO I DONT KNOW.

O.K. we appreciate your ambition...really do. But you are low on a few of those items. Just saying is all. I don't care if you don't buy my tractor, I just thought I'd throw it out there since it sounded exactly like what you were looking for, and it's for sale. Do you have any idea what it takes to slide a Jacks block into that case?? And a crank that big? Unless you go small on the journals(which is a BAD idea with a bore that big) you need to be very careful on how much clearancing you do. Been there, done this...many times over. Then there comes all the other stuff as you mentioned, plus weight brackets, wheelie bars, tires...whatever else. Anyways, glad you have ambition to do this, just trying to give you a little more insight on an engine this big. Try doing one where you need to move the cam! :)

You can spend $10k on the engine alone. The MMS pistons, with pins and rings will be about $1k, the rods will be about $900, and possibly more if you put real wide journals on the crank. In your $3200, you dont have clearencing the camshaft for the rods, and you dont have a cylinder head or manifold. You are going to kill better than $2K on the head and manifold. And then there are the little nickel and dime things like bearings and gaskets that add up.

Be warned up front that yes, a Jack's block is the cheaper option up front, but the sleeves are thin wall steel tubing. Getting the rings to seat can be an issue, and the cylinders staying round can become a problem. There are some Jacks blocks that have ran fine for years, and there are some that give trouble after little use. Its your money, and your choice, but just so you know ahead of time what you can be getting into there.

From what I remember about the ad for Jug's tractor on YT from while back, the parts alone were worth the asking price. And then add in all the little things that Jugs mentioned about weight brackets and the major crankcase surgury required to make everything go 'round and 'round.

There's two tractors for sale on pulloff.com.. one is in parts.. you could buy the tractor that is apart.. use what you want and sell the rest.. Same with the tractor above..
