Unstyled B - replace powerlift with flatback

So my dad and I have a 1936 B and we have a flatback to put on it. Right now it has the powerlift. What all do we need to do or what are the steps to swap out the cover? I know I need the gasket for the cover and the gasket for the bearing cap. Anything else besides gear oil?

It should just unbolt and come off and the flat cover bolt right on. Does your flat cover have the pto shaft in it ? if not the one from the power trol won't work.IIRC

Yes, I have the PTO shaft as well. I think I have to drain the oil and remove the powerlift. Put in the new PTO shaft, put on the cover, assemble the bearing and packing flange, and refill with oil. Sound about right?

Sounds about right except I'm pretty sure the pto shaft can stay in the cover when removing or installing. At least in all the ones I parted out or worked on I just unbolted the cover and removed. Have a lift or helper to aid in the removal of the hyd. power lift. Some have a connector shaft and or couplings up inside to the pto and others the pto goes all the way up into the pto bevel gear.
