Unstyled JD B front wheel bearings

Got the front hubs off the '38 B today. I noticed that both sides had outer bearings, but no inner bearings. Are they hidden somewhere? I can't believe that there are no inner bearings, or even remnants. I'm thinking I am missing some simple explanation....

Maybe you don't see them under the seal. Ron MN
