Thanks old, Dell, Bruce, and Jerry. Rechecked everything and cleaned points. Drained carb bowl, good flow, smelled good, A little tough to work through the loader etc. to access. Got a good snappy snot slinging spark now, but still won't start. A little bit of ether into the intake and varooom. then die, took off carb lots of crud in bowl. Went and rewatched 8n carb section tune up video (purchased on this site) and start taking it apart. Interestingly, The Dan in the video said (I'm sure) 20 thousandths for the points for sidemount. Hmmm, but I went with what I was told by old and you others. Sooo, I guess the carb needs to be cleaned and rebuilt. Got to get a carb kit on order. Dan in the video mentioned the big needle from the bowl slanted had itty bitty holes. I didn't see any on mine, I even held it up to the lights. Maybe crudded up good. Having weaker eyes since I was a kid makes it abit tougher. I think when I'm done its going to be in better shape and a nice overdue tuneup. Had it for 6 years and no real problems since. Ran it pretty good moving gravel with the loader, backblade, box blade, and posthole digging, as well as occasional snow removal with the back blade during the winters. Nothing too hard like you guys that do brush hogging. Any way, just wanted to give you guys a update. After the carb is done, I'll be back with a post. Thanks again.
