Update on Ferrelgas issue

They refuse to negotiate on the price or even match Amerigas's price of $2.24 a gallon. For them to come out and pump out the unrequested gas (105 gallons) they will charge me $87, not gonna do that. It is too bad they wont let you talk to a higher up person and make the ofice girls take the rath of unhappy custumers. She verified I am NOT on the Keep Full list. I am one that burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice shame on me, so I am going to 100% wood heat until I can get my OWN tank bought and delivered, and I will have Ferrelgas come and pick up their tank and their gas that I am not paying for. I am sure they figure I use to little to bother making me happy. Oh well, Amerigas will get to benifit from my increase in use as I will have corn to dry next fall and will have a shop to heat. Amazing that they can charge close to $1 more than others have a $5.99 per delivery hazmat fee, and treat a customer of 12 years in a manor that makes me cut ties and switch. I feel for the ladies that have to deal with these calls everyday.

Dad had that happen a while back. Company wasn't Ferrelgas, but they came and filled the leased tank unrequested and overcharged for it. Dad bought his own tank and had them haul away their tank, still loaded with the propane in it. Think he had the attorney general in on it--he liked to enlist the state a.g. when a pickle happened.

I actually got the last laugh in on Thermogas or Ferrellgas ? when they charged me tank rent because I didn't use enough gas. Even though I was using it I just didn't use up to 500 gal like they wanted. I ran it about empty and bought my own tank. The tank I bought had a gauge that was stuck on about 20% ? I switched gauges. When they finally picked up their tank and sent me a credit for what gas was left they went by the gauge ! LOL !!!! Ha Ha !!!

I didnt read your first post, but around the Michigan area Ferrell gas has p.o.ed just about every customer around.

I use a little local company and couldnt be happier.

I do believe that I would be contacting the A.G.s office in your state. I would also not be paying for the gas. There has to be a corporate office somewhere, I would try to contact them and see if there is anything you can do from there.

Been listening for several years about ferrel gas here on Yt. How could any one still deal with them?
How many of these stories does it take to learn?
I don't live with in 1000 miles of any Ferrel gas company and am sure that I would not let them get with in 1000 miles of my tank. Why not put a padlock on the tank so they can not keep filling it. Find some way to buy your own tank and get rid of theirs.

The funny part is if you to their web site, they have a "price match guarantee" if you own your own tank.

My mother switched gas companys and they moved the old tank out and moved the new tank in and pumped the gas from the old tank to the new at no extra charge for her switching to there company. The old tank was a rented tank and the new one she bought. You might ask. If they will you can call Ferrelgas up and tell them to please come and get there tank as it is in the road/way. which ever words are used in your area.

Here in Texas we have a Public Utilities Commission. If you have a similar state commission, you might see if you can file a complaint with them. It may not do any good, but give these guys every black mark you can and certainly contact your state and local A.G.

I'd imagine there has to be someone to talk to that would get some results, you need to hammer someone at the corporate level, with an intelligent, business like nasty gram, or some correspondence from the atty general. I can't say I would not have been happy about that situation either, 12 years as a customer and they admit you are on the will call list, it's really amazing the amount of complaints by people here alone in regards to their agressive tactics, they are at the same level as scheister collection agencies, and it's probably the tip of the iceberg as far as unhappy customers goes, corporate would sure get an eye opener reading these posts, you would have to be an idiot to absorb this level of customer dissatisfaction and be happy with it as a business owner. The fact that they are closing a territory is evidence of losing a significant customer base. You would think they would want volume sales.

Take their tank off, call em up and tell em your out again in a few weeks, had the heat cranked up or some lame excuse to get em back out, but leave a 20 lb. BBQ tank out there with there name on it and an illustration of an appropriate gesture on the tank, not hard to draw a hand with one finger raised. When the person comes to fill it, be nice to see the look on their face. Childish kind of prank I know, but they seem awful disrespectful when they have to realize money is tight in the winter time and do things like you describe, good customer service is not based on dictatorship last I checked.

What has to happen is almost a class action lawsuit to get ferrell gas to change their bad customer policies and the Attorney General to crack some skulls at Ferrell gas.

Fellows NEVER put a lock on the lid of your lp tank. They must be left so the fire dept can shut off the gas AT the tank. If you have a fire, house burns down, and your tank is locked up, causing the fire dept to report same to your insurance co, you might as well have not been paying them any premiums. We went through this with people years ago.

Call the Public Service Commission and your Attorney General for your state and make a complaint out.When the Attorney General calls him and does whatever he does,he will probly call you with a better price.If not gripe more.It sure looks like they have it over on you until you fight back.Maybe it wont do any good,but they will know you arent a pushover.You have to make out a complaint before the AG or PSC will do anything.

Good luck getting them to pick it up. At work we had 4 tanks they came and got three when we switched to Natural. Still waiting for them to pick up the 4th almost a year later. They charged us a lot to pump out the old gas they turned around and sold.

we had Star Propane and got the run around too so bought my own tank. told them to come and get it no response so called them and said will be out on road and if not gone will call scrap dealer gave them 2 days. felt sorry for the old guy who had to haul it helped him get hooked up Top brass has no business ideas

Bad thing about runnig out is when they come they will charge you 100 dollars about for a leak inspection. according to them that is the law ha driver has told everyone don,t tell me then I can fill without front office knowing might be a gimmick

Hope you fellas remember this. The poor guy sent to pick up the tank is just as upset as you are.It's cold, the crane trucks don't work right below freezing, and he's the one stuck cleaning up the corporate mess! Ain't his fault, but he sure is the one catching all the flack.
