So for anyone who may remember the John Deere green ford that appeared on this forum around this time last year…. I’m happy to say she’s about 80% restored. First up I did the Pertronix 12v and electric ignition conversion and cleaned the carb. Was ready to fire when I realized the flywheel ring gear was stripped. So I Split her apart and battled the R/R of the ring gear. Put her back together and cracked right to life after roughly 8-10 years of sitting. Next up was get my hydraulics working so I could plow snow this past winter. Removed top lid (only to find what appeared to be a medium double double consistency of oil) not knowing much about the hydraulic system on these old tractors. Soon realized with some help from you guys my problem laid in the pump itself where the valves at the bottom were sticking. So rebuilt the pump and voila! Working three point hitch. Worked her about once a week in our Canadian winter moving snow which she did awesome! Some chains and more weight would be a huge help tho. Now that fake spring #2 (my fellow Canadians will get the joke lol) is starting to show I got very eager to start repainting and get rid of the hideous John Deere green and yellow. Now I love me a good ol JD but it don’t belong on a ford lol. Anyway if anyone is still reading thanks for your time! Cheers
