Update on potential UTU progect

Thank You Gentlemen!,
For your imput on my "potential utu project post"
With your help I purchased the old girl. Got her home yesterday.
Serial tags were pretty rusted I took them off today Buffed the heck out of them and WALA these are the #'s tractor 03800220 I believe a 1952 UTN ,Engine#01918684 = 1952.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Plan to start hot pressure washing next week ,Its going to need several baths .Much stacked ,caked dirt grease.
I have her setting in back yard and the more I look at it the more beautiful it gets.

Serial number makes it a true UTN made in 52. A number of UTU's were converted to single wheel. Lucky find. Someday I will find one. In mid 1952 several changes were made including ribs in fenders, and different starter and flywheel.

Thanks for the pictures . Take plenty of photos as your project comes along. You will never be sorry when you get older. I did not take many photos back in the 50 s and latter of our farming operations. Really regret it now. clint

I see it says Visalia on your truck. Assume that's where you live. My brother lives in Hanford and manages the John Deere dealership in Five Points. However I don't expect you to be a John Deere guy since your handle is redgems and you commented on the red tractors you had at the Tulare antique show.

That MM looks like a gem itself. Always enjoy looking at photos of old tractors, most all colors.

Good to hear from you!
I live in Fresno, tractor came from Pixley Ca.
Tow Co. had offices in Tulare,Visalia,Tipton.
He manages Five points'! Fresno Eq.Co.(Small World)
All my current farming is done with mostly John Deere from Fesno Eq. Co. from the fresno store.
Yes ,I grew up with I.H. and MM. I have restored some of the I.H. that I started with ,Now the M.M.U.

You are absolutly right wish I had more pics of my farming in early years.
I too like seeing pic's from different parts of the country.

I am posting a before and after picture of our R cab project. It took some time and work but it was all worth it when the project is completed. I know yours will be the same some day. Good luck and enjoyed seeing your pictures. oleclint

Nice find! I rescued my utn from the dead row at polk auction. I finally have it running again and hope to have it repainted soon and I also have a set of cultivators to put on it!
