Update on stuck 1066

Well we did it YUP! the weather got real cold and Victor tightened up the cable to the starter (Hey I didn't know about that one) and the 1066 fired right up and with the weights removed he drove it right out. Didn't hurt the field to much because it was frozen pretty good.
I was going out to get some pics but its cold out there.

Congrats. Now stay out of there. When I was a kid,we got a Farmall H stuck out west of the barn spreading manure. The mag went bad on it.Took a while to get it fixed.Tried to pull it out after we got it started,just got in deeper. It sat there probably 10 days. I went out there one dry day after school and got it started,it was just dry enough to drive it out. Felt like a super hero...for about two days. I went out to try to get the spreader out and sank it again. Dad wasn't real impressed with me.

walt, glad ya got that rascal out of there. always bugs me if something is stuck in the field, worry all nite about it, dunno why. last summer i buried my backhoe, spent half the day diggin it out, winching ect, all by myself. finally got it out. then, i turned it around figuring i"ll attack the diggins from another angle. here"s your sign, buried er again. after i dug it out the second time, i put it back in the shed!!!!

Congrats on getting it out. Always a good feeling!! At least it looked like you were far enough from the road that no one could see you. That has NEVER been my luck!!

Happy for you ,I am what a expert at getting things stuck .In 93 when we had way to much rain all summer and the mississippi over took everything ,I was operating a 2505 terra gator well as I was following the others I lost the bottom and sunk about 6'. I had it wedged so tight in the mud I could not even turn those giant 66" goodyear floaters .we ended up using one of theose anchor chains to unstick it only took 16 hours .

well i'm glad you got that out. i remember a few years back, my dad sunk his JD 70 all the way down to the drabar in a cornfield in the spring. we hooked 2 tractors onto it , one on each rear axle, and tried moving it under it's own power at the same time. couldn't budge it. so he ended up jacking it up and stuffing logs under the tires. this was a slow and delicate process. but we did get it out after a few days. and like everyone else, it was almost right next to the road. but yours was heavier and woulda been more of a pain to jack up.

Walt, glad you got her out. I got my Ford 4600 with loader stuck 2 years ago in snow, coming up a hill after spreading manure. I have no tire chaines on it. Well I had to leave the spreader and get the tractor back to the barn. I had to use my F250 4wd to go back and get my spreader. Get some dirt in those ruts, shake some hay on it, and your hay field will be fine!!!! JayinNY

hey, just be glad your wheels wasnt froze in the ground. had that happen once but it was a truck.
