Well here's what they determined. I
didn't have them replace the autostart.
I can get it done down the street for
$160 less. But I'm going to take this
into the place that does them and see
what they think. What I read is replace
the autostart then we can do more
testing???

The aftermarket remote start can cause the whole issue. I assumed the remote start was factory, sorry. Any minor voltage change will mess with the theft system, that's so it can't be easily defeated and the truck stolen. The best suggestion would be to eliminate the remote start. Unless you're willing to go through this again.
Not the answer you wished for I'm certain,(and not what the installer will tell you) but the truth up front is cheaper in the long run. And always what I try to give my customers so they can make wise choices for their dollar.
Removal would be something you could do yourself if you're inclined.
 
LisaK -- our mechanics have removed dozens of these things over the years. Never replaced them, I dont know if you were, but most folks don't want to get stranded again.
 
You would still have the option to edit "Security" out of the PCM. Likely cheaper, WILL work, and no further parts/diagnostics needed.
