I am setting up a sprayer and haven't been able to find anything online to help with setting up a sprayer with the old style T Jet manual valve. Specifically I need to know how to plumb the pressure regulator and the agitator line. Does the regulator dump its excess flow back to the tank? Or does the regulator go ahead of the selector valve ?

Thanks.

Scott, what kind of pump do you have? It will make a difference whether you have a centrifugal pump or something like a roller pump as they are plumbed differently. Mike

Forgot to mention your manual valves would be used in place of the three electric shutoff valves, and the line that goes back to the cab controler would be where you put a pressure gauge in the lower right diagram.

North Dakota State Extension has a good schematic, just went through this with my sprayer. On my sprayer the regulator is on the side port of the T Jet valve and the water flows through the regulator back to the tank for the adjectator hole and the regulator is suppossed to have a by pass line going out of it into the top of the tank, I don't have that on mine. I use a 8 roll roller pump. One thing I found was that if the pump is too small it will not adjatate (sp.), go with a lot bigger pump then you the rating states because this does not account for the resistance on the lines, this gave me a lot of problems and I thought I had everything hooked up wrong.

Sorry Mike, I forgot to say I have a centrifugal pump.

Ia Gary, I am expecting my plumbing to look similar to the diagram in the upper right of the link. So without a regulator in that setup is the pressure somehow controlled with what they are calling the control valve?? What is this valve? Just a common gate valve, or a sprayer throttling valve? And then the agitator line valve? Again just a gate valve, or something special?

Thank you for the tip about the NDSU extension website. It answers most questions I had. Looks like I need a couple throttling valves according to their plumbing diagram.

Any valve that will withstand 100 lbs. of pressure will work. I like ball valves. They are easy to see where you are at on your adjustments.

Thank you to everyone for the help. I got it going today and ran around a 2 acre piece with clear water to check calibration. All is well for now. Thanks again.
