Updated, PLEASE HELP ford 1200 tractor

I made a post before and I was not very clear on some things so I will try this again and do my best to put it in terms that can be easily understood. Here is my story, about a month ago I purchased a Ford 1200 tractor with 768 front loader. When I bought it, it wouldn't start. I put a brand new starter on it, changed the oil, bleed the fuel system, topped off the radiator with coolant and then it started right up and ran like a dream. I have used ether/starting fluid (same thing?) To get it started, even with the glow plugs it would not start after it sat overnight or long enough to get cold. So the first time starting it for the day I would spray a small amount of ether in the filter and it would start just fine. A couple of days ago I was dragging a,small log and it started to cut out and then it died, when I opened the hood, there was coolant over flowing from the radiator cap and the radiator cap was still on, possibly not sealed right, also it was out of fuel. So I bleed the fuel system added coolant and tried to start it with ether and it cranks over slowly acting as if it has low voltage and then suddenly stops with a grinding noise that sounds as if its,coming from the alternator or somewhere around that area. Absolutely wont start and I'm afraid to try too many times because of the grinding. I took some pictures and a video but I can't figure out how to upload them.I will try to post pictures and video if anyone knows how then let me know. Thanks if I left anything out then I'm sorry feel free to ask questions, Im wanting to know where do I start trouble shooting this?could this be something simple of something very bad?possible problems and solutions. I know,it sounds like I messed the motor up with ether I understand that, I want to know, how do I confirm that?trying to get a process of elimination going on, any help would be grateful, not sure if pics,uploaded or not but the last pic is,where the grinding sounds like it is coming from. This is my first diesel and first tractor,I know my way around a transmission or any gas vehichle but not familiar with diesel. ALSO, I drained out the coolant and it almost looked like rusty water.I did put a few stop leak tabs in the radiator to plug up a,small leak.

I think there may be oil on ton of both pistons. ?

It is possible that the head is cracked causing it to push antifreeze out and that caused it to overheat and the grinding noise is caused from pistons scoring the cylinder walls. If it does not crank over well with a fully charged battery something internally is binding. I would pull the head off and see what you find.

Check battery.. Is it low?

If so correct that and lets re check.

Any water in the oil?

Ant steam from the exhaust?

sorry to hear about your tractor, but the damage to your engine may have been done before you bought the tractor. it's happened to me before. don't beat your self up over it.

The starter could be bad, hence the grinding noise. take it off, take it to a starter shop. Try to turn the motor over by hand to verify. If you ran out of diesel under load and you have the radiator topped off completely full to the top, then it could have just been puking out the excess. Only needs filled to an inch below the bottom of the cap.

Those glow plugs have to be heated for about 30-45 seconds. That's a long time to hold the key backwards. That's what you have to do, though. There is a toaster coil on the dash that glows bright red after 30 seconds or so. Watch that coil to make sure the glow plugs are heating, then start the engine.

Id check the starter out. Maybe the previous owner wasn't using the glow plugs correctly either.

The starter is brand new, battery is,fully charged and has good connection, why can I not upload pictures? The oil does not appear to have coolant in it. The coolant was a dirty rusty looking color. I have a video and some pictures but they won't upload for some reason. I guess the next thing to do is pull the head. The glow plugs work, the little coil on the dash glows red, I didn't know you had to hold it down for that long.

Be careful with ether. I would never use it while using the glow plugs.

Pull the injectors out of the head and see if it will crank over easy. See what blows out
of the holes when you do.See if the noise goes away or remains. Way to much time has been
spent guessing. Get out the wrenches.

Tell how you know that the battery is fully charged and connections are good. Always start with the easy things.

I assure you it's not the battery of connection, they are all brand new and iv checked voltage and cleaned the grounds. This has got to be something internal. I'll try to get pics up then more pics when I remove head.

And sorry about any typos, I'm on a new phone still getting used to I hope you can put two and two together and understand what I'm saying,if not then feel free to ask. Stand by for pictures and that may give you a better idea of what I'm talking about. I will try removing the injectors and cranking it over. This is not a battery or connection problem, I'm sorry if my poor grammar and typos puts off a bad impression, iam mechanically inclined I can work on just about anything but I'm new into diesels and tractors which is why I asked advice. I have went over pretty much everything besides the internals of the engine and have found nothing that would cause this.
