Upper hydraulic arm

Anybody have any tips on replacing the upper hydraulic arm? Mine seems to be bent to where the leveler box crank hits the fender. I can buy one locally and looks pretty straight forward to me.

It can be straightforward or it can be near impossible. Remove leveling box and bolt(s) and retainer plate. Should be able to remove arm from shaft. Clean splines, align splines and reinstall everything.

have heat and a puller ready.. can use 2 hammers to hit 180' apart on it.. but many come off with about the same type of effort getting a stuck tie rod end out.. or like detting a sector arm off a steering box. if it is fighting. hit the end of the arm where the arm is on the splined shaft with heat, and then uench it with spray penetrant oil. it will wick into the joint. do this heat /quench a few times. then let it set. then heat just the outter portion of the arm.. not the shaft and keep the puller tight. probably pop loose.

as a last resort, just use a die grinder and find a shallow portion above a spline and split it 90% and finish off with a cold chissle.. once you pop it it will loose most tension. then you can clean the splines and the new arm and install it with some neverseize to save the next chump some work.

lastly. you might just heat and bend it..

done both.. had both work..

worst case is you heat it and bend it and 2 weeks later it breaks and you cut it off and still put the new one on.. no loss of $$

Thanks guys. Turned out to be real easy. Just took off the keeper plate and put a prybar on the back side. Slid off with no effort. First thing I"ve found on this tractor that wasn"t rusted / frozed solid!!
