Went to an estate sale with the wife today. Found this adjustable wrench of a brand I have never heard of. I went to my shop and starting digging around my tools to see what I had. Only 95F and 109F heat index, which is not out of line for NE Oklahoma. Got all my USA tools and took a picture of them. All of the ones I know of that are USA made and I don't have are John Deere Matco Williams and Cornwell. I sure they are others. Bottom open end says USA but not brand on either side. Double ratchet wrench is a LangLine. Second from bottom is Billings. Lynn

You can call me a cynic because I am one, but who knows where something is made anymore?

According to their website, even Snap-On has manufacturing plants in some 29 countries.

I know what you mean. I went to a Menards over the weekend and they had a “Great Neck” screwdriver on sale. It’s one of those tools that has Phillips and flat screwdriver bits that kind of retract into the handle. It’s great in the job site because of the versatility and cheap enough that if it gets lost or stolen…so what?
Anyway the packaging says “Assembled in USA”. I know darn well it is not MADE in USA. But there’s no clue if the country of origin and an unformed tool buyer would think otherwise.

I should have added, just because something is not made in the USA, doesn't mean it's inferior. The finest set of combination wrenches I own, both metric and SAE,, from both appearance and function, was made in India.

And some of the finest steel on Earth comes from India. I've read of steel statuary made in India that is 2,000 years old with nary a speck of rust.

My "Jet" 5 inch bench vice is made in India. I'm very proud of it as India is top notch with their foundries. kevin110
