Using a disc ridger

Have an 8N and thinking of getting a disc ridger to make raised beds with irrigation furrows for vegetables.I'd like the furrows to center on the middles of the rear tires so can drive in the furrows with a spring tooth harrow , cultipack and later a weeding harrow. This would give me beds about 3 to 3.5 feet across. Would two discs each side be enough? Would 16 inch discs make enough of an irrigation furrow? Would plow, disc and harrow first. Soil is sandy clay loam per farm advisor but more clay than sand. (Tends to clod some.) Any more info would be welcome. Thanks in advance. Angelo

Don't know anything about vegies or "bed farming", but conventional/traditional surface irrigation wouldn't work for what you want to do?

It's a heck of a lot easier and doesn't take any "special" equipment to speak of. All you need is a darned good cultivator.
