If you use the tractor regularly it will be fine, probably the best. I don't use it our tractors because they sit for 5-6 months over winter. I was at a lubrication seminar years ago and the Mobil tec said if an engine is going to sit a long time it's best not to use synthetic, because it has less cling, and will drain off leaving the metal unprotected. That's why it's more efficient, it causes less drag in the bearings. I do use it in our motorcycles though, but they don't sit over 5 months, and they're air cooled, so they run warm. Synthetic is great for cold starts, and extreme heat, so in general it's the best thing to use.

I was told no clinging ability in synthetic 45 years ago or so. Are you sure that is still true?

Well what I like about it is that it doesn't degrade like Dino oil does. I used to use Dino oil in my lawnmowers changing the oil a couple of times a year due to it getting dirty....picking up crud in the oil due to the combustion and related concerns. Since sin. is not Dino based it doesn't break down like Dino oil and as a result I could run several years with clean oil......my apple iMac decided to capitalize the word Dino, I didn't choose to do that. I went to the proper place and turned off the AI babysitter but it had other ideas and disregarded my effort.

Edit: My smartassed AI infused Imac decided to change another of my words. changed s.....y....n. to sin. Getting tired of this upgrade thing...thanks Apple!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's almost certainly far better oil than whatever was available when your tractor was new. Assuming it's a diesel-rated oil (CK-4), it should be fine.
