USPS Rant Update

I think the USPS does not do itself any favors regarding naming their distribution center like they are a local post office. I had a parcel that came from California via DHL. It was destined to enter the USPS in Austell, GA, and then it was reported at my post office. It was reported at a post office one county east of me, then two counties west of me until actually arriving at my post office for delivery.

The first time my post office appeared, it indicated the final post office. The one in the county east of me was a regional sorting station, and then it was sent to the post office west of me, which turned out to be a metro Atlanta sorting station. I was very frustrated watching the tracking, so I called the USPS 800 number, and that is when I was given the explanation I just went through here.

USPS has in the last month or two taken 1.5+ weeks to get small packages to me here in TX from as far away as Colorado and Oregon. Meanwhile FedEx (economy) just got me a package from Italy in 3 days.
