Does anyone have a source for the rockshaft seal VT2945? I'm not having any luck finding one. Thanks.

Is this a "conventional" oil seal with a steel outer ring and a rubber lip?

Lipseal VT2945 later substitute p/n A30380 is just a grease seal, there is no oil buildup or pressure in the rockshaft housing unless the piston seal is blown or the vent/leak-off line to the torque tube is plugged.

I generally use National seals if I can cross-ref the Case p/n. The link below has the newer substitute Case p/n A30380. Click on the interchange p/n and then on specifications to check dimensional match with your old seal. Modern seals are usually narrower than older seals but they work as good or better than the original.

Otherwise you might try a goggle search for brand seal interchanges. A30380 replaced VT2945 prior to 1964 but either nr may be in use by a vendor.

No Sir, I didn't want to bother John with a matter that I thought could be answered here. Hope they are doing better but have not heard anything either.

The SKF replacement part number is 20586. Your local Napa auto parts should be able to order it.
