Vector Battery Chargers

Anybody had experience with the Vector 4 amp charger maintainer? I'm looking for something reasonably priced to hook up to my batteries that I do not use during the winter. I have about 10 batteries so want to spend as little as possible to keep them up. I know the HF Viking does a good job but are $40 and the Vector is $15. TIA 🧑‍🌾

I have a Del Tran maintainer and it works very well. There are models that can handle multiple batteries at once, but it is not the cheapest. The selling point is quality.

You paid nearly $10 more to get the Black & Decker name?? Vector makes B&D chargers. Just different paint and stickers.

Vector makes decent battery chargers. Their maintainers are iffy.

Well maybe he paid more to get the name, but maybe he got higher specifications in addition to the name. It doesn't matter what factory made the unit, it matters what the specs are that it meets. No way to know unless you work in the factory. I guess it matters not as long as he is satisfied.

My point was what works for "me" and how "I" use them. No experience with an actual "Vector" brand. However a quick search showed my buying option for one as this (easier to sit at home and have it delivered the next day): BTW Where do you get your nearly $10 cheaper one??

What I really like about the Viking is it will shut off and if the battery starts losing its power it starts up again. Watch the sales, 25.00 is what I paid for the last one, the one before that was still plugged in to the truck and the cord jumped out in front of the lawnmower 🙄

I’ve had several Battery Tender maintainers. They have worked flawlessly. Only failure was the one that I forgot to disconnect and drove off. Smashed the case when it hit the floor.

If a battery is any good and doesn't have any drain on it sitting a few months shouldn't hurt it, and cold storage is the best, it slows down the chemical action in the battery. I have 11 different batteries sitting in the cold of MN for 5 months every winter, no maintainers, no problems. My truck, the boat, and one tractor are disconnected, otherwise just shut them off and lock the door.
