Vinegar longevity

John Deere G setting out 30 yrs. Finally got brake drums off, but
brake shoe adjustment is really stuck. Its been soaking in 30% vinegar for 2 weeks and still very stuck. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Heat. Red hot with bees wax. Otherwise- penetrating oil. Somebody will soon recommend trans fluid. trans fluid mixed with xylene way better than vinegar.

Vinegar is an acid so that is not what one should use to loosen up something. ATF or other such oil is a whole lot better
When I was a kid i watched dad pour a small amount of vinegar into a gallon jug, then he tied a string to a dull file and suspended in the jug, just above the liquid. The vapors would eat away at the edges of the file "teeth" and sharpen them.

"Soaking" is just going to remove the visible rust. It's never going to be able to get into the unexposed threads; they're sealed water-tight.

Oh, and the vinegar will keep going until there's nothing left. I threw some rusty screwdrivers into some white vinegar and checked them every few days. One cleaned up good, but the other was still rusty so I left it. The shank just kept getting thinner and thinner until it was gone.
