voltage regulator

49 8N, front mount, six volt. New wiring harness (correctly installed), generator rebuilt working fine. Voltage regulator lasted about two minutes, field cut out is open, no charge. Are there problems with the voltage regulators?? If so, any source of good ones??? Thank you in advance.

i went thru 3 chinese regs on my frmall h before I got one that would charge ok.

on your dead one.. if it's fielg regualtor still works.. if nothing else, you can use a big diode to go across the cutout...
