2 questions.1-where do you grease the throwout bearing? 2- Can you tighten the packing on the water pump without removing anything?
Thank you.

1. The clutch throw-out bearing can be reached by first removing a round plate located on top of the clutch compartment cover (towards the left side of the tractor).

I will have a look at mine to see about the packing nut for the water pump.

You should be able to turn the packing nut with a channel lock plier. If it offers too much resistance for that, you may need make a wrench. Too many times I've found that someone has used a punch and hammer and succeeded in knocking the lugs off the nut. It's brass so it doesn't take a lot of abuse. Don't move it anymore than is necessary to keep it from leaking. Sometimes a shot of good water resistant grease will do the job too.

thats how channel lock pliers got the name water pump pliers, as they were used to tighten the packing.
