Waldon 5000 3rd function spool valve lever lock?

I have a 3rd function on my Waldon. I've added a quick attach and want to run a hydraulic auger. My question is if there is any way to make the third function lever stay put without holding it in the spring loaded working position. The issue Im having is that I can't constantly hold the auger "turn" lever while using lever for down pressure. I want the auger to turn while I feather the down pressure.

Maybe a bungee strap setup or some other cool mechanical cheap lever holder someone has thought of or is there something I can buy and put in the spool valve? The top lever works the auger. You can see the 3 levers in the picture on the right side. My down lever has a detent float position that locks the lever in position. That would be nice to have on the top one.

If you can identify the make and model of the hydraulic VALVE there MAY be a detent kit available for it.

Or just use a bungee cord?

Ohh that would be great wore out. I will look. I think these hydraulics are super standard stuff used back in the 70's so I'm hoping I can find a used or new kit like you mentioned. Do these kits have a detent that will auto return when the cylinder reaches the end of it's stroke like a log splitter does? Or is this function only available in newer more modern spool valves?

If you can find a detent kit for the spool of your valve, I doubt it will have a kick out feature. Looking beyond the detent for the valve --

Is this hydrostatic drive? Does it have a dedicated hydraulic pump for the functions, or do they work from the same pump as the travel, if it is hydrostatic drive? Have you looked into the hydraulic flow requirements of the auger you are thinking of? Does your machine have hydraulic flow enough to run the auger and use the down pressure on the lift arms? Depending on the flow available and the system, the auger may stop when you operate a second function in that control valve, unless feathered extremely carefully.

Just throwing some things out there to consider, as the valve is not the entire picture of hydraulic requirements to have it operate in a manner you like.

I have 2 pumps on this loader. One pump is dedicated to running a transmission that has drive shaft and 4wd. I believe this pump is about 21gpm. The other pump is 14gpm with 3gpm dedicated to power steering. That leaves me with 11gpm for tilt, boom lift, and the 3rd function. I currently run a front mounted wood splitter on it. I can live with using the spool valve manually for this. For the auger, I bought the chinese excavator auger I will be mounting on it. I should have plenty of flow to run that and put some down pressure at the same time. I need to dig 500 holes for xmas trees this spring. So detent would be great for this job.

Here is a pic of the spool valve. The boom lift already comes with a detent for float position. You can see it has the longer spool cover cap. Seems like i should be able to add that to the 3rd function like you said with a kit or buy an old used one?
