Warning chain

I bought a dismantled 2n that came with a lot of original accessories. One is the chain with an oval warning plate that goes with the bolted together stay bars.(got those also). I can't figure out how or where the chain ends are mounted. I THINK I know where the little plate with the bolt hole goes but I have no idea where the angled clip goes or what it's purpose is. Any help??

The clip end is fastened to the hydraulic lift arm at the lowest position, this prevents accidental lifting and damage to pump and drawbar parts.

Dick........do you really wanna see what happens to yer "stay-arms" when you accidentally lift yer hy-trol lever??? The oval warning chain is to "remind" you not to lift .......Dell

Here's how it attaches to the quadrant.

And this is how mine is attached to the stay bar.

Well,I was wrong about the position of the lower piece. So, in effect, it is a physical stop to keep the operator from inadvertantly or accidently moving the lift lever. Thank you all, the picture sure helped HCooke.
