Wasp Removal

A few weeks ago I took home a 49 BN and quickly discovered a group of wasps living in it. Whatever I do I cannot seem to get them to go away, I have tried multiple brands of wasp spray and pressure washed the nests but nothing seems to get them gone permanently, they just move to a different part of the tractor.

Does anyone have tricks or tips to scaring off wasps? I'm starting to get real sick of being stung while working on the tractor

I had the same problem with bees a few years ago. I phoned the bee man here and he told me to spray them with soap and water he said that will plug their pores and kill them. I did that and it seamed to work.

Wait until dark when they are all home for the night, tarp or plastic drape it, set off several spray bombs under the cover.

Spray them and the nest with carb cleaner spray and then remove the nest. I have done this many times in many place and have never seen them come back

I use plain old WD-40 on regular wasps. It kills them quick and leaves the nest oily. They won't stay with the oily nest.

Lots of useful suggestions here, thanks. I will start trying them over the next few days and see what works for me

Get a 'RESCUE' wasp trap ($9 CDN) they work GREAT. East and West specific. Put one out on Friday afternoon - 4 hrs. later approx. 40 drowned wasps. Today approx. 350, HTH

I have one of those high voltage bug killers, just place near where they are located, plug in & rile up the bees with pole, they will go for the bug killer, wiped out gallon sized nests in couple of days

Invest in a bottle of Benadryl and some Spanish onions prior to any messing with bees or wasps.
Onion juice on the stinger will neutralize the poison to some degree. Allergic of stings or not, the Benadryl will reduce the reaction.

We always used gasoline to get rid of them. We just used a little jar of gas on the nest. Just don't miss. Because it only makes them
mad. And you can't outrun them.
