How hard to replace water pump 8n front mount dist.?
No videos on line that I could find. The water pump started making a
squeaking noise.

You can do it with out removing the hood, but removing it makes the job a lot easier. Best to have it rebuilt instead of buying a new one.

Same method for both styles of distributors. I did it once by not removing the hood. I had to unbolt the hood in the front and jack the front of the hood up to gain more room. Would be about as simple to just remove the hood.

I have a 2n front moiunt distributor. I have replaced the water pump without removing the hood. Just don't damage the radiator when removing the fan. You will need a 1/4" socket. And be sure to get a rebuilt water pump, instead of trying to rebuild the pump yourself.
