Waukesha 310 value?

Hi All,
I’m looking at buying an Oliver 1855 with a fairly fresh 310 (rebuild approx 600hrs ago).
I’ve got it in my head that I want to put an industrial 12valve Cummins in it (already have it in the shed) and am wondering what the value of the running 310 is?
We could debate how much sense the swap makes but it’s been hashed over here before...I just want to know the value of the 310.

Thanks!

The value of a good 310 that has been overhauled depends on the parts used and in part how good it runs. I could use one but if the wrist pins haven't been updated or the new rod bolts installed, it isn't worth much. Already purchased a tractor that was supposed to have the updates in place only to have run on 5 cylinders after about a 100 hours. Do you have exactly what was done? I would be interested if done correctly

I am trying to find out what updates were done at the time of rebuild.
Is it true a person can shine a flashlight down the oil filler and see which parts were used ? What exactly am I looking for?

A Good useable 310 is bringing good money these days because of hard to find good parts. Even if the engine was not rebuilt properly but the block and crank are good. They are each worth around $800-1000. If it was rebuilt with all the good parts and machine work your a few $1000 more. I know of a cockshutt 1755 someone in my area just bought, that is selling the running 310 for $3000.00. To answer your other question, You can only see the rod bolts thru the oil fill hole. You may have to turn the engine over by hand to see them. That does not guarantee much, someone could have just put the bolts in and nothing else!
