Hey guys I"m working on a friends 42 WC I am putting a distributor from another AC and need the proper timing procedure. It had a non fuctional mag. Also need a very basic wiring diagram for the ignition circut. He is going to get manuals just doesn"t have money now Thanks in advance for the wonderful help
 
Find top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke of #1 cylinder.
Install the magneto. Be careful because you could be off 180 degrees.
The gear on the mag that drives the rotor should have alignment marks. Look carefully at each one. If you can install the rotor and cap to align with the #1 cylinder spark plug wire, then you are there. If not, rotate the mag 180 and try again.
I haven't been able to find a wiring diagram for a WC yet. I just did a '47 out of the frame engine overhaul and it was hit or miss to get the thing to fire. A lot of trial and error but, it runs great now. Hope it helps some.
