WC pto step up gear needed

Need a box with the 18 tooth sliding gear and 25 tooth idler gear used with mower. 97 year old neighbor looking for one.

News to me. Never been around one of those mowers. Must be the pulley for the belt couldn't be large enough in diameter to get the speed, so they had to change the box and gears ?? Sounds like an expensive mower to work on a "WC".

Does one find this PTO in the tractor or mower parts book?

I didn't know until I saw a mower and PTO for sale at a swap and at one time It interested me enough to investigate. It was either in the mower parts book or tractir parts, been 25 years ago.

Yes struck me as very odd also, not like AC to have a special set of PTO gears just to run a mower and then everything had to be swapped back to use the PTO for anything else.

So...the parts book indeed shows an 18T idler and 25T sliding gear for the mower. Prior to 1939. Wonder what changed. Or is that the year the mower changed from chain drive to belt drive.

Can this be identified on the tractor or does it need to be pulled off to count teeth? Have a couple WC tractors that had mower mount parts on them when I got them. Mike

There is a spacer plate used between the housings when using the high speed setup. Just look for the spacer plate.
