WD Allis clutch seal?

Am needing to replace the clutch on my WD and was looking at the parts for sale and they have a clutch seal listed. Is this the same as the rear main seal? Thanks, Jim

Use my WD to line bales up in field to load out later. Notice (lots of)oil dripping off every bolt on bottom of engine clutch housing inspection cover. Is this the same seal Jim is asking about? The operaters manual shows a rear oil seal in the engine clutch shaft break down section. It was not engine oil leaking out of inspection cover.

There are two ways oil can get into the clutch of a WD or WD-45..

Either the rear main seal is leaking..or..(more probably)..the seal at the front of the Hydrolic reservoir..
If the Hydrolic oil is allowed to run too low, the seal gets ruined..
If this is where the oil is getting in to the clutch, don't fill the Hydrolic as full and it should slow down a lot..
That seal usually grooves the shaft and you will need one of the thin sleeves that slips on, to provide a new sealing surface for the seal..
This should be done when installing a new clutch...if you ever are going to do it...!!
A small amount of seepage is pretty normal..

NEKS, easiest way to figure out where the oil is coming from is to monitor the levels in the hydraulic reservoir and the crankcase. If a lot is leaking out, oil level is changing somewhere. I think most of the time it will be the crankcase because of a rear main seal. Before changing seal on crankshaft, check bearing clearance with plasti-gauge. If the clearance is close to spec, leave bearings and adjust if they are adjustable. If out of spec considerably, seal will start to leak prematurely unless crank or bearing work is done.
