WD missing on cyl 4

My WD has a miss on the #4 cylinder. I have put in new plugs, checked the plug wires, swapped wires to rule out the wire, and have done a compression test and have compression. If I connect a plug to the wire while the tractor is running I get spark. It ran fine before it set over the winter. Is it possible for me to have a restriction in the intake? Anyone got any ideas?

My WD started missing just yesterday. It could be a sticking valve. I use a gas additive for the valves. I think I didn't add enough when I filled up yesterday. partway through a "pull" it started missing, then it would straighten up and run smooth. then miss again. I was pulling out large clumps of pampus grass. Cutting them with a steel cable then lifting them out with the trip bucket.

Put a half quart of ATF into 2 gal of gas and try that. Far cheaper then any thing else and works very well for sticking valves and also cleans out carbon build up. You should also make sure that the points open as they should on all 4 lobes in the distributor since bushing wear can cause a problem like you have

That lead stuff is 110% pure snake oil and does not even have so much as one gram of lead in it. All the stuff is good for is to make a company $ that they should not be making

You also tried moving the wire and spark plug to another cyl to see if the miss follows them?
If the miss stays on that cyl after moving wires and plugs, you have a mechanical issue.

Once a year, Dad would dose each of our gas tractors with a complete squirtcan of oil..(your choice of oil type)..
At about 1/3 throttle, squirt it in the open carburetor as fast as the engine can take it..
( Be SURE to do this OUTSIDE..)..!!!
It just may smoke a little...!!
Does wonders for sticking valves..!

Could it be sucking air around the intake gasket? Maybe spray a little carb cleaner around the rear gaskets, while it is running, and see if it afects the engine!

Every WD that I ever had, about 6 of them to be exact, started doing that
when the block cracked and began passing water thru to the oil. But if you aren't fouling plugs it may be something else.
