WD starter switch

I want to replace the foot switch on my WD starter. Its the original 6V starter, I'm now at 12v. I bought a switch from YT, the only one listed. Its for a Delco starter. Come to find out I have an Autolite starter and it won't fit. Does anyone know where I can get an Autolite switch? Steiner doesn't seem to have one either.

My WD used to have a long lever arm which hooked to a pivot on the starter that pushed a big button to engage the starter. All of that fancy linkage is gone now. I start my WD by standing next to it and pushing the button by hand. Then I walk around the right rear tire, climb up and drive away.

PS: the starter that came on the tractor when I got it died of a broken nose cone. I don't remember what brand i replaced it with.

I have a Autolite starter with that switch. I took the little snap ring off & disassemble and rebuilt it. Involved taking the contacts out and smoothing them up on a belt sander and a small shim. I also made new insulation which the old should be okay. Also that starter has a external lug which I was able to attach a cable to and use a push button & external solenoid which is handy. One time when I was young & dumb I stood in front of the tire and started the tractor on a incline and in first gear. I was quick enough then to climb aboard and stop it-couldn't now. I could send pictures if that would help??

@cleddy I always make sure the shifter is in neutral and the hand clutch lever is all the way forward before I push that button. I'm not interested in finding out if I'm fast enough ;)
I hear you-I did it your way when my starter switch was so bad it needed Vice Grip lever to operate. No problem to check transmission lever and make sure it in neutral. I have a 9-N Ford and am not a fan of the neutral switch and was not trying to be critical.

I don’t think that you will find an Autolite switch anywhere. Ran into the same situation on my “C”. My solution was to replace the contact lug with a threaded stud. I then used a remote Ford type solenoid and a push button.
