I have an old wd and when I tried to start it this morning itwont do a thing.all connections are tight.could it be the starter switch? Thanks

Make sure all the connections are CLEAN! I had trouble with my WD-45. The battery connections were tight but apparently not clean enough. Maybe take off the switch and clean the inside connections. Good luck.

(quoted from post at 14:28:30 04/19/23) Is there anyway to check the starter while on the bench? I
have a new switch ordered.

Clip the ground of a battery charger to the case and touch the hot clamp to the starter post.

Don't overlook where it goes into the tractor. Setscrew can get rusty over time and prevent good ground. Cleddy

Havent been able to get it to engage on the bench so
far.could it be inside the starter? Im87 years old and this is
all new to me.thanks to all of you for your input.

I'm working on a G I just bought and the starter was sluggish. I took it apart and cleaned it up and now it works good. Are you 6 or 12v? 6v can be really temperamental when it comes to being clean as has been said. Never to old to learn. Good luck and let us know how you come out.
