Wd45 live hydraulic

Has anyone put a time like this on a wd45? I don't know if it would make any difference is getting the engine out of an E gleaner. I was wondering if there's any problems with this setup and if there's any downside. For the record I do know the hand clutch will give me a live hydraulic

That looks like a WD magneto drive. There are plenty of the Delco distributor drive/magneto replacement kits, but must be this one incorporates a pump drive? I've never seen such. The distributor drive housing on a Gleaner E would have a plug in the end where the tach drive on a tractor fastened.

The hand clutch will give you live hydraulics but you will need to shift using the foot (engine) clutch as the hand clutch (transmission clutch) runs in the transmission oil, is a multi-plate clutch and will drag some at least until the oil is warm and even then you may not be able to shift using it. It is for stopping and starting the tractor while doing PTO work or when easing the tractor along is necessary as it will accept a lot abuse from riding it without damage. The pump on the distributor drive in t he picture will of course be live.

If I was to do this I would have to use a MAG housing from the a w d. My main concern in a system like this is the timing gear and whether or not it's heavy enough to handle the stress. I thought I should mention Beth back in case the gears are different.

Should work. If I remember right, M&W and maybe some others sold aftermarket hyd setups like that.

Farmall head to have heavier timing gear
put in it for this to work. I believe the
gears in 17 would be heavy enough but not
sure. You got any idea?

Timing gears are the same between D-17 and WD45. Yes, it would work. Yes, it will shorten the life of the timing gears. The factory designed front crankshaft driven pump is 10 to 12 GPM and what you're proposing is probably half the GPM's

A friend of mine, Dennis, put in a E gleaner engine in a WD,you have to make a cut in the inside top rail on the right side maybe a inch long, 1/2 deep to the outside, you could barley see it, cant remember what for, but he didn't have live hyd either!! Keep us posted how it work's out!
