WAS PULLING MY WD45 THIS WEEKEND AND THE SHIFT LEVER CAME OUT OF GEAR AND JUST LIKE NOTHING WAS HOOKED TO IT, GOT IT BACK IN GEAR FINALY TO FINISH AND TO LOAD ON TRAILER. SHIFT FORKS WORE???? NEVER BEEN IN A WD45 TRANNY. DWC

Usually, the end of the gear shift lever is worn which lets it slip between the slots in the shifter sliders. the slots probably do wear some as well.
I have had success with both my WD and WD-45 with welding up the end and grinding back to what I think is near the original shape.
The pins at the top of the shift tower also wear as do the holes in the tower.
I have made new pins by grinding down the head of a bolt and cutting to the right length.
As I recall, the last set of pins I made from 5/16" bolts and I drilled the tower holes to 5/16" as well.
If I recall correctly, they were originally 1/4".
