weak spark 52 8n

I have weak spark on my 52 8n. Changed points, condenser timed etc. Ammeter stopped working today.

Ignition switch or coil?

6v or 12v?

Probably not the coil or the switch.
The source of all current is the battery.

Charge it & check it per tip # 49.

Cleaning all the grounds would help too.

It's very unlikely it's the coil; round coils are nearly bullet proof unless you are in the habit of leaving the key on.

If you think it might be the ignition switch (and it could be) then jump it.

6v system. Battery is fully charged. Checked it and all the connections.

if it is a post ammeter and it no longer works. jump it. it may have opened. rare.. but possible.,

How am i supposed to jump the ammeter? just a wire to both posts with it still hooked up?

say you got a ammeter with 2 posts.

you know power goes in one side and comes out the other.

now.. what do you think it wuld take to bypass that? yes.. a wire fromone side to the other.

what is the ignition wireing system doing on your tractor.

it's getting power from the battery to your coil.

sure it goes thru a switcha nd some connection points.. maybee a resistor.. depending on the setup. but basically a wire from the battery to the coil.

hot wireing a coil is ANOTHER bypass.. straight from the battery to the coil.
