I've got most of my ground worked up but have not been able to do anything since (last) Friday afternoon. Nothing planted at this point as what I worked needed to air out. Six of the next ten days look rainy according to the forecast. I was interested as to how everybody was making out. Sounds like a fair number are in decent shape even if they are not where they normally would be at this point.

I'm here in NE Ohio and I've just sitting here waiting for it to dry out .......at least for a week so I can plow! Most of what dad and I will plant will be corn and some grain, but at least our orchard crops are doing OK.

I'm in the same boat here in mid Michigan that you're in. Things dried up and I got oats in 2 weeks ago,I plowed the sod that's going to corn, chiseled some second year corn ground, then we got 2 1/2 inches of rain from last Wednesday night through Sunday. Just a tenth over night, but we could get more anytime,so I have no corn in. I just went out and checked some of the plowed ground and I've got big troubles in some of the low spots. The plow sole is holding water and it's standing in the dead furrows and you sink half way to your knees up on the furrow.

Vary little has gotten done here some corn got notilled in and i only know of 6 acres of oat in the ground in my area. and it ain't ah looking to good into next week either.

I read the corn planting progress report this week. As wet as things have been here in MN, we have nothing to complain about compared to Ohio. Only 7% of the corn in, the state average is 70% by this date. Also, ND isn't faring much better.

I'm in western ny. Got 10 acres of corn in last Wednesday and Thursday. Got some other ground plowed up but still have more to do. Big guys around me were going like mad last week putting corn in but i haven't talked to any so I don't know how they are going. Been at a standstill since Saturday waiting for things to dry out. There are still some smaller guys around me with nothing in the ground yet.

We had a week of dry and that let me get the ground worked and still had a day to plant. We just truck farm so all we got in were onions, potatos three kinds of beans and the first planting of sweet corn. It"s too early for live plants here in N.E. Pa. Now I have mud. I spent the last week in the wood shop making apple boxes and bird houses for the farm market. I picked up a new 50 gal sprayer today; the farm sailsmen asked how far I wes behind -- I asked him for a large can of dry to go with that new sprayer. Ed

my neighbor here in Virginia did his first cutting of hay about a week ago, has been raining ever since.
that stuff will never dry out.

I have all of our crops planted. Here in North-east Iowa we could use a little rain. Some of the banks could use a little rain to help the corn come up. We got a few tenths over the weekend. Cut first crop hay today. I will chop it so drying is not an issue.

I have family in South Central Ohio. Nothing has been planted there. They got more rain this weekend too. Tough season so far for the Eastern Corn belt.
